Google puts up special Raya-Merdeka doodle

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 (Bernama) -– Browsers of the Google website today found a very special Merdeka Day present from Google Malaysia which has come up with its very own decorative logo or doodle to commemorate the unique double celebration -– Aidilfitri and Malaysia's National Day.
Visitors to google.com.my today will see the Google logo decorated with a "ketupat" and a Malaysian flag to reflect "Merdeka Raya."
"We are delighted to add a special Malaysian design to our doodle list, especially since it is a rare double celebration this year.
"While Google is a global brand, we want to be as local as we can in our own Googley way. We wish all Malaysians a Selamat Hari Raya and Merdeka Day " said Sajith Sivanandan, the country head of Google Malaysia in a statement.
Google doodles have delighted users over the years and have proven to be an endearing part of the whole Google experience.
Many Malaysians, obviously delighted to see the "Merdeka Raya" doodle, flooded the social media site with their commendation.
While some regarded it as "cute," others were more expressive, like the following remark: "Google's logo today is on Malaysia's independence and Hari Raya. Awesomesauce!!!"
One tweeted that "this Merdeka Raya concept from Google is very simple, yet attractive ... at least for me" while another said, "Memang ada style lah." (It's stylish.)
Google has celebrated and marked everything from Alfred Hitchcock's birthday to leap years, where a team of designers are employed to come up with these doodles.
Said one tweet: "Happy Merdeka, folks! Nice of Google to do this."
Best movie I've seen all Summer. Don't call it a remake.(Rise of the Planet of the Apes)

Because of the wonderful holidays, I get to catch some movies at the mall, three of them are: Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Glee 3D and Transformers, Dark Side of the Moon.  Excellent!!!!

1. Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Synopsis

During experiments to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease, a genetically-enhanced chimpanzee uses its greater intelligence to lead other apes to freedom.

The Escapist director Rupert Wyatt takes the helm for this Planet of the Apes prequel centering on genetically engineered chimp Caesar (Andy Serkis), who was created in a San Francisco lab by an ambitious scientist (James Franco), and who uses his powerful intellect to lead an ape uprising against all of humankind. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

2. Glee 3D

(the review below is not mine!  Will give you the source later)
Even if you are not familiar with Glee, you will enjoy this movie if you are into musicals or singing and dancing. The movie is a vivacious documentary recounting life-changing experiences from Gleeks combined with Glee cast performances. Watching the entire cast of Glee perform is very entertaining and the 3D effect makes the movie so vivid and life-like. I felt like I was there enjoying the concert! The movie is very high-spirited and gives off good vibes and delivers positive messages such as have self-confidence and it is okay to be different. I like how the movie goes behind the scenes of the Glee cast because Gleeks and the rest of the audience can identify themselves with the various personalities of the characters. The movie has several scenes where Gleeks are interviewed about who their favorite character is or tell experiences about how relating to a certain character on the show helped them pull through a tough time. I recommend this movie to children 7 and up. It does not have inappropriate language, sexual scenes, and is not complicated or difficult to understand for children since there is not much of a storyline. The movie is also rated PG. Glee: The 3D Concert Movie is a fun movie pick to see with friends, but is also an engaging family film connecting both parents and kids through music. The wait is finally over! This movie will be coming out in theaters August 12, 2011.

Now the race is on to reach a sacred temple within the planet's Forbidden Zone to discover the shocking secrets of mankind's past - and the key to its future.

Tim Burton

An "Apes" family tree
1."Planet of the Apes" (1968): The mother voyage follows a bitter, cynical astronaut, Taylor (Charlton Heston), as he makes sense out of dirty apes and grubby humans
2."Beneath the Planet of the Apes" (1970): An astronaut (James Franciscus) searches for Taylor, only to end up wandering around the ruins of New York. After meeting a cult of doomsday-bomb-worshipping mutants, he discovers that the subway system is even more bizarre than when he left Earth.

3."Escape From the Planet of the Apes" (1971): Essentially a monkey love story, this flick follows Zira (Kim Hunter) and Cornelius (Roddy McDowall) as they fly back in time and find that humans just aren't nice.

4."Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" (1972): Caesar (McDowall) leads an ape revolution, summoning a new era in human-simian relations.
5."Battle for the Planet of the Apes"
(1973): Apes and humans exchange blows, but learn to get along.
6."Planet of the Apes"
(2001): Tim Burton's space oddity that failed to re-create the past.

When I get the chance, I will view all the Planet of the Apes series, and the Transformers too!!!(maybe my retirement project?)

Window Smasher at Work

On the eve of Raya, revellers went to revel and after the revelry, one reveler came back to find his car window smashed.......

Don't park your car in a crappy neighbourhood
(when I got up this morning to take photo of the smithereens,
Papa had already patched up the window with a piece of plastic!)
They are so hard-up and high on drugs
they smash your 300 ringgit window
to get 3 ringgit loose change in your car

or your 30 ringgit credit in your smart tag.
Don't display your smart tag,
 not so smart after all
this smart tag could be the reason the smasher targeted this car.
