On our way home to KL, we MUST buy tau sar pneah
to take home, for ourselves or as gifts!
Penang's famous, also nutmeg, mi ku, prawn paste etc...
This is the shop and address

- Tel04-828 4316
neat arrangement and display of products available
housed in an old heritage building
such a cool exterior
mini antique stools!!!
before I went in, I saw all these outside the shop....used to be a residence...
then you enter the shop which was once someone's house
I bought two packets...so cheap!! RM3.80 each!!
chili sauce, prawn paste for rojak...all homemade recipe...
for a guide to products available here go to
Tradition at its best
street where the shop is located....lots of street stalls, reminds me of Jalan sultanah in Batu Pahat, 40 years ago
the facade of the shop...actually a terrace house with a long drive way
You can also buy Mi Ku from Hoe Peng, Jenny's son requested it, but it was sold out that day, so I did not have a chance to find out what mi ku (tortoise bread) is!!!
YOU MUST COME HERE TO GET YOUR BISCUITS TO BRING A SLICE OF PENANG BACK HOME!!!!
this is what I bought: heko, and tau sar pneah in 2 flavours
Popularly known as ‘Heko’ or ‘Petis’. It is an exotic paste derived from shrimps.
Especially used in local hawker dishes like ‘Penang Laksa’, ‘Chee Cheong Fun ’ and ‘Rojak’, giving them a most flavorful taste |
Tambun Biscuits with authentic red bean filling
