Walking the Streets of Saigon at night for Dinner

This is our last night in Ho Chi Minh City
and the guide is taking us to a restaurant near our hotel.
After our elephant ear lunch, we are looking
forward to another Vietnamese dinner..pancakes.

Waiting for the guide outside out hotel.
We love to sit out here watching the street life in action.

Before he came, we went for a walk around the hotel vicinity. Vietnam's time is one
hour behind ours so it was 4.30 and still early.

This girl came out of her eatery to show me her menu and entice me to eat,
unfortunately we cannot patronise her place as our dinner is reserved for us
by the tour company.

We saw an empty clinic. Either Vietnamese are very healthy
or they cannot afford to seek medical treatment: this clinic is deserted!

We saw lots of hair dresser shops with lots of sexy girls, on both sides of the hotel.
The girls are dressed provocatively to attract customers, and all the shops have
glass doors for clear visibility.
 Red carpet welcome too!
Lots of leggy girls with high heels!
See? You can spot the girls from across the road!
 Girls waiting for customers...
Is it a front for massage parlours?

As usual, we have to walk on the pavement, dodging
the motorbikes!

Security guard helping old lady to light her stove.
She has a cute dog for company (chained to the chair, though)
Waiting for her dinner to boil. Life is not lonely on the sidewalk of Saigon.
And I am pleased to note that there were no beggars and homeless children
on the streets in sight.
Lots of company and camaraderie

Even in an old abandoned building under construction
this man can go online
On a camp bed propped up with bricks
 We have reached our restaurant!

This is a pancake specialty place
Banh Xeo

Vietnamese Pancakes

kitchen is downstairs, all the dining rooms are upstairs!
Our set menu: we had all these for dinner

Lots of  vegetables!!! RAW!
Always we are served this Fresh Rolls (Four only!)

And he eats it by unrolling the rice sheet,
taking out the mint leaves and basil, and rolling it
back to eat it!!

He does not mind the lettuce but not the celery and mint...too pungent for him.

fried batter with prawns, note that everything is in FOURs, even the fruits also four pieces only!
Huge pancakes!

  Two types of filling:
Palm Heart Banh Xeo and Brown Beech Mushroom

Stewed Pig Stomach soup with green peppercorn,
 served with vegetables and pho
(rice noodles)

After dinner, we had a leisurely walk back.
 Pulsating night life

Always chilling out on the streets!
  sidewalk coffee cafe

No wonder Vietnamese's chess skills are awesome!!
this taxi is able to make a U turn on the motorbike choked street!

You can even have a gang fight on the busy street, never mind the traffic that is oncoming!

Underworld gang fights in a busy street in Vietnam. Full of martial arts stuns!
