Father's Day at Makan Kitchen, Doubletree Hilton 17 June 2012

We had a lovely Father's Day buffet lunch

at Doubletree Hitlton's signature kitchen:

The Makan Kitchen 

serving sumptious Malaysian cuisinel

 The 2 men in my life.....

 So Happy......we had a room with a view

 Moghul cuisine with tandoori chicken, lamb masala, nasi beriani...above shows the urns for banana leaf rice curries

 big gigantic pots for cooking tandoori chicken by slapping it at the sides and letting it stick there

 peering for a closer look

 brassware pots for dishing out the gravies and an Alladin lamp for props

 the chinese section looks like an apothecary

 even the chef is dressed like a sinseh...the set up reminds me of my dad's chinese drug store

 the jars in front seem to contain chinese herbs for nourishing nutritious herbal soups

 so spacious there is hardly any queue

 nasi lemak section

 satay!!!

 mee rebus, mee hoon soup and kway teow tng

 pots for the soups were humunguous

 sausages and burgers!!!

 the 2 old folks

 my open sandwich with layers of egg mayo, ham, turkey, cheese, pickles and chick peas

 even had live cultural entertainment

desserts, macaroons and kueh mueh!!!!!
