Sunset Dinner 2 June 2011

On our last night at the resort, we treated ourselves to a spectacular sunset dinner at the BBQ Bar. It proved to be an excellent choice because we had dinner into the sunset! It is second only to the sunset dinner at Jimbaran Bay, Bali (or maybe because this is only my second senset dinner!)
the venue
such a lovely backdrop for a sunset dinner, romantic, scenic made even me look photogenic!
we picked this corner balcony to have a vantage point
the start of the 'set'....
                                                                     It is still bright
A boat will come into the picture to add to the picturesqueness of the picture!

dinner is forgotten..........NOT! I gobbled my food in between shots....
the orb of a setting sun is nowhere to be seen

streaks of light caught the gleam of the water goblets and beamed through the rails casting perpendicular shafts of glow (how's that for waxing lyrical?)

scene is getting colourful, I am getting creative with words

cantik, kan?
like my childhood watercolour picture

symphonic play of light and colours overshadow the sinking orb of the solar rays of the sun, with the boat barely discernible

at the sunset of my life, what is this life, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare? (From the poem: "Leisure")
(not the best of sunset, nor the best of photographic skills, but a serene picture that tells a thousand words.....)

deceptively simple scene: a sun, the sea, the horizon, a boat, yet they speak volumes, put together they become the handiwork of God
if you pan your camera to the other side, you get a different scenario of a different colour: softly undulating outcrops hugging the horizon
deft strokes of the artist's brush on a vast expanse of canvass.........and dancing ripples in the foreground gently and serendipitiously in tune and in contrast  to the fiery fiesty sky

swirling clouds and whirling wind made my  mind conjure up images of pleasant memories past and present....my life is so blessed
partially dark extreme left juxtaposed with partial brightness, the hills are asymmetrically aligned.....

A smaller boat passes by and gives a perspective to the bigger ship moored against the horizon with the remnants of the crescendo of the orchestra of hues.

the denouement of the climactic scene
the aforesaid softly undulating ranges back-dropped against the pastel hued sky..the last vestiges of the sunset

sorry, all those food has stuffed my brain and the poet has run out of lyrical prose and poetic rhymes

nomnomnommmmmmm.....hahahah! that is all we can say!
come lah, join us!

the lamps are lit, the show is about to end, but the food is aplenty and the night is still young

I recommend everyone to have a sunset dinner at least once,
dining on fresh barbecued catch-of-the day seafood seated at the deck while the wonder of nature (a sunset) unfolds before your very eyes is one of the luxuries  in life retirees like us can have the time for.

So, the show has ended and the sky is now pitch black!!!
Time for desserts and calorie-laden, diabetic-inducing pastries drizzled drowned in genuine Hershey's chocolate.
