Apathy Kills

(You can go to this link to view the video if you have the stomach for it)

On 13 October prime news on TV showed very disturbing footages of a lttle girlbeing run over by a white van and then a truck.
I read in the Malay papers that the
white van driver said: "She did not look right, she did not look left, if she did, and stopped, I would not have hit her"

SHE WAS ONLY 2!!!!!

Inset shows the girl being run over a second time by a truck.

The van just mowed her down like she was a traffic cone
and she went under the van to be squished like a
a fly underfoot.

Which is more disturbing, the van who mowed her down
 and crushed her slowly, deliberately
 with his back wheels
or the people who passed by
 but averted their eyes?
 (18 people!!!)

Run-over Chinese toddler dies

Yue Yue, the two-year-old toddler who was rolled over by two vehicles in Foshan, Guangdong province in China - and left to bleed on the road - has died on Friday.

She was ignored by 18 passers-by as she lay critically injured in the street after being run over by two vans last Thursday.
Surveillance camera footage of people walking past Yue Yue as she lay bleeding and unconscious sparked a wave of condemnation and soul-searching on China's hugely popular social networking sites.
A rubbish collector who finally moved the girl to the side of the street in the southern Chinese city of Foshan was hailed as a national hero, but the incident also led many online commentators to question the state of Chinese morality.

The death of Yue Yue was one of the most popular topics on China's weibos - microblogging sites similar to Twitter - on Friday as people expressed sorrow and anger over the incident.

'Farewell to little Yue Yue. There are no cars in heaven,' wrote one microblogger on Sina's weibo.

Yue Yue relied on machines for maintaining blood pressure and respiration till her last breath.
Tests on Monday found severe damage in the functions of her brainstem and cerebral cortex.

Gruesome closed-circuit camera video of last Thursday's accident, aired on television and posted on the Internet, showed Yueyue toddling along the hardware market street in the southern city of Foshan. A van strikes her, slows and then resumes driving, rolling its back right wheel over the child. As she lays with blood pooling, 18 people walk or cycle by and another van strikes her before a scrap picker scoops her up.
