One of the greatest epic novels in history, Les Misérables is the moving story of Jean Valjean’ s struggle for redemption and his lifelong pursuit by Javert, a police detective determined to return Valjean to chains. Always one step ahead of Javert, Valjean encounters the tragic Fantine, and ultimately rescues Fantine’ s daughter, Cosette, from her wretched life with the Thénadiers, treating the child as his own as she comes of age in pre-revolutionary Paris.
Published in 1862, Victor Hugo’ s Les Misérables is remarkable for its clarity and detailed descriptions of the 1832 rebellion. Enormously popular upon publication, Les Misérables has been adapted for the stage and film, including the forthcoming movie starring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway (2012)

    • What the fuck has happened to the society. So you now you complement Tolkien, Lucas which is understandable but not try to accept something good recreated back from the time.

      Guess ignorance has no limits.
