Forest City

If you come to Johor Bahru you die die must visit Forest City! If you don’t already know what it’s about let me show you !

Location of Forest City

Waze showed that we are going into the sea! That’s because it’s s massive reclamation of the Sea!

Equally massive construction is still ongoing!

We are very impressed with the entrance...

Beautifully landscaped walkways

Giant cactus

So many!!!

The reception was inviting and yes “massive”!!! Everything is massively done here!

Lots of Chinese clientele

Showroom of actual units... this is the bedroom

Time for free coffee

Map shows you the city reclaimed land.

Shows the proximity to Singapore and you can compare it to Jurong Island and the other neighboring islands.

There will be another link )approved )

It will be a self contained island of sorts with its own school, hospitals etc and the closeness to Singapore and Indonesia is definitely a plus point.

You can go down to the man made beach

Kiddies wading pool

Tranquil and calm .. you can relax and pretend you are in Maldives or Hawaii ..  why don’t you book a unit on Forest City? You won’t regret it.

Best chicken chop in Town: It Roo Cafe

Walking along Jalan Dhoby looking for a quick and fast dinner the words “the best chicken chop in Town” caught our eye! Waah... to be daring enough to declare yours as the best chicken chop in town without any figures or endorsement or certificates to prove it, must be quite something,  so .. well, we stepped in to look for the best chicken chop in Town!!!
This is It Roo Cafe, funny name but catchy nonetheless!
I am very amused and now I simply have to taste it!

It seems It Roo is its original name and looking at this picture it must have been quite an old coffee shop and the prices seem reasonable too.

He had chicken chop with 2 eggs and I had teriyaki chicken and a glass of Nescafé
Deep fried chicken chop with 2 eggs and black pepper sauce. It also comes grilled with a choice of mushroom sauce.
Pushing aside the eggs to show you the chicken chop which was quite huge
My teriyaki chicken
It was a very crowded cafe with lots of Malay diners waiting to break fast and they did not mind that  we ate first in front of them, such is the level of religious tolerance in Malaysia.

Our bill for 2: RM41.35 ... we still had to pay 6% GST.

The verdict of the chicken chop? Well, "ok ok" taste but the portion was too big, he could not even finish it , and I too left some teriyaki  chicken even though I was very hungry to begin with!
