Gan VT wins first prize, Public Speaking Competition, JPWP

Gan V T  won the first prize in the Public Speaking Competition, Bangsar Zone, JPWP today.  I have been taking him to HELP Uni Comp (organized by ESU) and Sunway Uni comp where he was pitted against experienced speakers from colleges and seasoned ex-prize winners, together with Samuel Ong.

The venue of the competition: PPD (Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah), Jalan Hang Jebat, just down the road near VI.  The organizer is Confucian school.

This is Kenneth's (U6P) mum who is a teacher at Confucian.

Vincent  in action: title of his speech: "Abstinence".....inspired by Pn. Ng C. H's Focus of Family workshop of abstinence and staying away from pre-marital sex and STDs, no doubt!!!

Was rather annoyed at the giggling girls behind me cos I was trying to record him on handphone...Pn Ng ought to pack 'em off to the workshop too!

During break I took these photos, and instinctively knew one of these beauties will be ours...basing on how the other kids spoke (some refered to scripts, some had attack of nerves, some ended abruptly while Vin was polished and cool)

Yep!!! He won!!! And Johan (First Prize) too!!  Samuel is my back-up and Vin Tsen's loyal supporter.

Isaac Lee from  SMK Taman Desa is third and Grace from Bandar Sri Petaling is 2nd. (I heard she defeated Eric Khong at debate).

I knew that V T is No. 1 as soon as they announced Isaac and Grace as runner up and third. Refrained from jumping up and shouting "yay!!!"

V T is interviewed for EduWeb....check it out next week...go to their website.

Grace is a stylised speaker (lots of hand gestures and reminded me of how Chinese educated pple practise their speech) but she is a good interviewee...never at a loss for words!!!be it in English or Malay.  Below is Isaac, happy with his win.  I was so afraid he would get first! Nicholas was also a good speaker too.

Girls remember to wear a bra, boys, don't do this to the girls...

At first I was indignant at the
crazy guy who pulled down the girls' tube tops and skirts...then I could not help laughing till I cried...very funny, even the old lady was not spared!!!!

Daidomon - Japanese Buffet

Went to Daidomon Japanese Barbeque Buffet restaurant at Great Eastern Mall to celebrate my DG52 and APC with my Convent Peel Road colleagues...Susan, Lydia, Angie, Julia and Chen with her daughter.

(Daidomon opens at 11.30am to 2.30pm and from 6pm-10.30pm daily. I toured the restaurant before the food was served and found out that there are 7 private rooms named after the different locations in Japan. Interesting.) .....psst..... (I stole these words from the net).

We ordered (their buffet is not displayed like most buffets) all expensive dishes; shitake, different sets of beef slices (tender and so yummy!), lamb, salmon, ebi tempura, california rolls, soups, chicken, squids, scallops, oysters and then gobbled everything we could! Last2 tinggal kulit oyster je! (copyright reserved!..lifted from Huda's Blog!!)

One miserable unagi sushi!

Seafood plattter (oysters that we were supposed to cook in the foil thingie
