Petaling Jaya Old Town

For dinner on Sunday (two weeks ago) we decided to go the PJ Old Town, because we have not really explored old town before. Also, son has started working there, and wants to show us where he hangs out and have lunch in Old town.

The bank where he works now.

After taking enough photos of the bank, we went exploring OLD TOWN!

The bus stop

70s style houses
Chicken rice stall outside lean to shed
60s style wooden shops with corrugated tin sheets
Definitiely a STEP back in time....in OLD TOWN!!
Next Post: Where we had our dinner.....

Dim Sum At Old Town, PJ, (Jin xuan Hong Kong Dim Sum) 22 Feb 2011

After our son took us on a tour of PJ Old Town and his workplace, we settle on this Dim Sum place for dinner. Dim Sum for dinner? As good a time as any!

He pored over the menu, son placed orders, mum took photos and daughter read novel.
Interior of the dim sum restaurant. We were very early so very few other patrons.

It was rainy and wet, so we chose indoors

As soon as we were seated we were served Dim Sum that were ready from the trolley

We could take our pick
We chose Har kow

UOB bank by night.
We cruised around Old Town again.
quite deserted and smacks of ghost town status
And saw a relic from the past: the Commonwealth Games Logo from way back in 1998, and no one has deemed it fit to have it removed or replaced. So it stands, as neglected as PJ Old town, a vestige of past glory, just like PJ Old Town once was.

A Very Non Halal Story

I saw this article in the Sunday Times 23 January 2011.....the part where the actor tucked into a plateful of "daging itu". Then, at Sunway Pyramid today, a Malay boy was handing me a flyer for burgers.
