Our dog Cocoa

This is our cute and beautiful dog Cocoa (her brother is Milky and lives next door) the most intelligent and loveable mixed mongrel in the world
She used to stay at the old house at the back and whenever you open the back door, she will be there. staring at you expectantly with her Bruno Mars eyes
She hopes you will give her scraps, or a pat, or let her in

she looks well behaved now, but she can also jump on the spot!

she can even stand, or extend her paws to you
in 2010, we moved her to KinraraPapa made netting on the front gate
and wooden gates to confine her to the back
this gate is always open, so she can roam up to here

she will come to the back door when you open it, just like in Midah
Her beloved cage, that she has lived in since she was a pup,
it is now lined with cardboard to pad the wire floor and shield her from thunderstorm and buffer her from lightning claps.
she also loves to hide under chairs and peer at you from under them

We have since diposed off these chairs.
when Emel came back she chopped off her beautiful fur!
Look at her, so manja with the students and with her fur so unceremoniously lopped off!
This post is for my daughter who is now in Melbourne and who misses Cocoa her stress reliever and sight for sore exam eyes!

Mystery of the Black Patch

In one corner of the downstairs common bathroom in Taman Midah, there is always a mysterious black patch that grows...

After I have swept the black stuff down the sink hole, it appears after a while..
A mysterious black streak

A few days later, it grows bigger

AND BIGGER

(darn I-phone photos..after flipping, it appears unflipped when I upload them)

Close up of the mysterious black patch. On closer look, it appears to be dead ants. You can see some live ants depositing dead ants here into a heap. Can I call it the ant cemetery?

EEKS!!! What if the maid or I do not sweep it off? How big will it grow?

Wood Nymphs

The weather was fantastic: cool, not freezingly cold, no scorching blazing tropical sun, bright light of the afternoon minus the sweltering heat, secluded and wooded...the 2 girls spent their summer...Kate-Lyn and Jenn-Lyn

Kate-LynShe fed the koi

this giant saw the food on the stone

and zoomed with its carvenous ravenous mouth!

Ginormous! It actually came up on the rock!

Even went for the food under leaves!

Absolutely humoungous KOI

Jenn-Lyn took this pic of Kate-Lyn as she fed the fish

Kate-Lyn looks like a wood nymph, mere slip of a girl, so pretty and fair

Jenn-Lyn looks all pensive and sultry, the Bieb was the furthest from her mind.

then they had some antics in the pool

the next time they meet, they will be in their teens

They always meet fleetingly as babies during Chinese New Year and this is the first time they spent time together as twelve-year-olds.

Kate-Lyn and her mum, (who is your dad's cousin: Hong Leng, Sue..if u wanna visit them)

2 cousins.

One summer, when they were 12...
These 2 cousins spent many hours catching guppies with their bare hands...
(They went there again, after lunch...)
They were at the poolside for so long, I had to go and "chaperone" them
My zoom caught them, what are they doing?
They wre catching fish, reminds me of my childhood, there was a river opposite my house and my big sister and I had fun catching fish with a basket (sampan fish).
Much patience is needed...here Kate is using her hands to entice the small fish

they were here for a long time before dinner and I had to keep an eye on them
It is not easy, Kate had to keep very still
and stay for a long time in that uncomfortable position

then she cups her hand to catch one!
and transfer the fish to Jenn
to put on the giant yam leaf
look! a fish!
They do not need nets, or jars!
