Chilling Out at Versace New Perfume Launch,KLCC

Feeling depressed from an unsuccessful outing at the Public Speaking State Finals at St John, I escaped to KLCC to chill out at the Versace launch of its new perfume Versence.

This is Kate Moss making even more money from endorsing yet another perfume...and I am not about to add to her coffers or Allegra Versace's by buying it


The bottle is nothing to shout about, the scent? Dunno!!! I never wear perfumes!!! Not in this humid weather!!!!!

At a recent PPD meeting this teacher form Taman Tun braved the afternoon traffic and fought her way through massive jam at VI, then when she reached, she opened the door of our air-con room:"POW!!!"  The PONG hit us!! The perfume that she applied in the morning had reached deterioration level by afternoon!
Moral of the story: Since I sweat, excuse me, perspire easily, I don't wear perfume, as the perfume mixed with my sweat can smell deadly. (BTW, only dogs and horse sweat, ladies perspire).

Sunway Public Speaking Part 2

The drum set looked fantastic, I envy those who know how to play it...

Encik Sharizan was in charge of decorating the hall


Ha ha ha..there is even a need to mop the floor of the stage!

 How is this tie for size? Dr Sharul seems to say.  I used to be in charge of decorating dewan..a big headache indeed!!! Rohanah Lat does a good job...look at the green satin skirting and matching flowers....then I had to go to Sunway college.

   Vin Tsen looks dapper and confident here, his shirt is a welcome change from the school uniform....

Food!!!!

While the boys went for the public speaking competition, we were taken on a tour of the Sunway new Private International school and the SMILE lab

 Benjamin Quek called me..."Teacher, teacher..." he is the scion of the chain of Tux and Blazers, his sister was my CPR student, Quek Soon Teng, my afternoon prefect.

Saw this young girl who is the age of my little girl, her mother sure start her young on public speaking!!! BTW, I am so  so so sad Vin Tsen did not make the National Finals today (24 July 2009) at St John.

Clarins Facial

Time to go for my monthly facial at Clarins Lot 10.....the best pampering facial I have experienced so far!!  It's not so much  a face/blemish-clearing facial per se as a  relaxing facial massage that soothes, calms and caresses.  The first thing that greets me in the room is this incense burner that instantly draws me into its spell.

Then begins an olfactory treat which comes from this big bottle of eau dyamisante (I have a miniature of this at home)..the girl splashes these on her hands and rubs in in front of my nose and asks me to inhale.....the scent clears my brain...then she loosens  and flexes my legs, hands and then she pats my face with more lotion.........

Here is an array of lotions and potions designed for the nose and Clarins boasts organic and floral ingredients that assauge the nostrils.

Then she begins to work her facial massage on me,never leaving me alone in a darkened room like other facials with gigantic masks that caked when dried, making me immobile and rendering me half dead and numb with immobility when the mask is on!! Instead she kneads my face, drawing circlets on my forehead and pressing my temples with patient movements. Then she massages my scalp and give both my hands a loving rub. Next she does my neck and shoulders and I drift off to sleep......

This room is surprisingly spacious although it is situated behind the tiny counter at Lot 10, you wouldn't know that there is facial room there!

I strongly reccomend Clarins facial, not for its whitening, anti-ageing or belmish clearing effect but for a trip in relaxation and 'me' time and no, I am not paid to write this!


Footnote: I forgot to say that there is also no mandatory steam facial, and no painful pinching and squeezing of spots!!! No machines too!!! All human hands!!!

(I think Irene got a full year's vouchers of Clarins facial at One Utama but she did not go when she was eliminated from Butterfly Project..so wasted)

Chin SL aka Felicia

At the Apartment KLCC, I met my ex student way back from my 4th school!!!! In fact when the model strode up confidently for the demo, I thought to myself, this girl looks like Chin S L.  When she finished she came up to me and said she knew me...so I said "CHIN SL!" Whoa! She said for me to call her by her full name!!!! ha ha! she is now known as Felicia , writer with HOT magazine.

Doesn't she look hot? She said I taught her when she was 14!! at Form 2H. I remembered her because all the other girls' English was quite bad, suddenly I got this pages and pages of essay on "Take That".  At that time I had never heard of the boy band Take That! Then when I asked the girls to tell me what they do for extreme sports she said "spelunking"...and at that time too, I had not heard of caving being termed such!!!!
Then I had this "Meet Gary Barlow" thingie for Reen, so she went instead, since she is so crazy about him.
BTW, I still have the Gary Barlow t shirt which I love to wear because it is made in UK and very soft! and lasts!
Kinda lost touch when she went to private school, Stella Maris, then to Atlanta, US.
Now she's 27, swingingly single, and we meet again!!! (I think she is Reen's age.)


Do you like how the make-up artist did me up? I don't! He he ..I don't wear that much warpaint, not in this weather and in my profession: a prissy school marm!

The Apartment, KLCC and YSL

After the Dedication Ceremony of the Yong Chee Seng Block, I went to the Apartment at KLCC to unwind.  The function was organised by YSL and Style Magazine and the place that I booked for my daughter was replaced by Hsien.

The food was nothing to shout about......




The spaghetti or whatever was already half gone when we finished our make-up session, and there were no refills!!!


There was another event by Klue magazine downstairs and the grub was better!!! Took these on our way to Parkson to get our doorgifts.
