Housewives' Holiday (MediaCorp Show)

Tomorrow, at 6 o'clock on NTV7 you must watch Housewives' Holiday, an entertaining soap-opera by Mediacorp, Singapore!!!!

Housewives' Holiday

(translation of subtitles in Malay to English are in Italics for Ryan who might have forgotten his Malay)

Story revolves around three housewives (shades of Sex in City, and Desperate Housewives) Aiqin, Alice and Simei, dedicated houwives who work their finger to the bone for the family. Yet, their husbands betray them by having affairs and using money to gamble at Genting. The  centre housewife is Ann Kok, or Alice who dresses well and has a fantastic figure, still,  her husband strays.

(Don't be sad, maybe that woman is inventing the tale to hurt you : Simei tries to console Aiqin that her husband has not cheated on her)

The other woman: note how she dresses to snare Aiqin's husband..housewives do not dress like that

See her zebra-print tube dress?

(Divorce my wife? Didn't you say that you will not break up my family?)
He is naive to think that she wants only part of him, and will not wreck his life.

She pretends to placate him: (I am satisfied as long as we can maintain the relationship)

No wonder your husband likes me! Plain Chinese Tea!
(she orders plain chinese tea when mistress orders designer coffee)

He likens your relationship with him like tea-bags which has been used countless times: bland and tasteless!
Not only has she seduced her husband, now she insults and goads her!

He likens me to exquisite red wine and he is addicted! Intoxicated!
(Even the most stupid woman can feel it!)
She has been pretending that she does not know the affair, and her husband merrily sleeps with the other woman, thinking that she really doesn't.
(You have the smell of that perfume, through intimate relationship with that woman)
Tell-tale signs of the affair.

Feel happy to see me?
Alice believes in dressing up sexily and good grooming to keep her husband. Yet, he is seen here being surprised by a visit from his lover!

Of course they hit the sack!!! No this is not a soft porn movie....it is a family show!

(I will go shower, we go for dinner after that) When he is at the shower, she goes through his wallet and finds his address, where she goes to look him up!

(I am at work, I can't go back!) Lame! Lame excuses! Ladies, don't believe your husbands, ha ha!

It is so late, Wonder what has happened to our son?

At home, there is a crisis, his son has been arrested while he is having fun with his China doll.
China Doll believes he is unmarried.
Who are you? WHO ARE YOU?

His Lover? Are you sure?

No wonder I sense something funny! You are shameless!
(Girls, don't fall for sweet talking men, esp if they say they are not married)

Your mother is an invalid, I have to change her bedpan and urine cathether, I have to look after your wayward son, you just have fun outside!!!!!

I can't wait for tomorrow's episode!  I have become a soap-opera addict!!!! Like a house wife!

22 May 2010 Let's Talk Julie and Julia

Had a busy non-stop day today. First there was this replacement school day on a Saturday so was at work from 6.50 am to 1.50 pm. Then I used the Mahameru Highway to get to The Curve where I had a cosy coffee talk at MPH, the Curve. My shoes (from Hadyai, Thailand) gave way due to sheer age so that gave me an excuse to buy a new pair of Hush Puppies at Metrojaya. I drove back and reached Taman Midah and attended a birthday dinner at one of those million-dollar bungalows that you see in Midah. My N97 batteries went dead (bec of MPH) so no photos of the dinner! (mabe I can salvage some from my old Samsung).

Nice way to spend Saturday afternoon. Note the couple behind me. They are reitirees.
Free cup of coffee and ikan bilis bun!
The book featured for the talk today is JULIE AND JULIA.  I missed the "Eat, Pray, Love" , and  "Twilight: chat.

Lee Kuen, the organiser and the retired teacher...a few years from now, I will be like her, so free, attending book talks.

I finished my bun but I was still hungry (straight from school: no lunch)
So I went to the counter and found this soup bread

five types of soup of the day and I chose pumpkin

hmmmm....comfort food, could do with chunky bits of chicken though, then it would have been complete! You can drink the soup or break it and dunk the bread in the soup and eat it like a pig, like I did.

lots of activities going on at MPH the Curve
this MPH is supposed to be chicks oriented
what possessed me to wear this pair of shoes from Hadyai I don't know, it was so comfy till it gave way ( I had sent it to the cobbler many times, then kept it bec sayang to wear, now it broke on me)

My new shoes, nothing to look at but comfortable and suitable for school, to be used everyday!

Avatar from Alyssa's photo is still there, waiting for Allyssa
Walking back to E at the Curve through the Street was a great experience as the place was like pusalting with throbbing night-life evening-life where all the affluent teens came out to see and be seen.  Sorry no pictures, it wouldn't do to point my camera at eating and drinking youths hanging-out and lepaking.
