Free BBQ for teachers.

While the teachers were being entertained by students' performances,

the canteen staff was busy preparing a lavish BBQ for teachers.

The green patch beside the cafeteria made a pretty garden setting

Teacher's Day Celebration at School Level, 25 May 2012

On the last day of the school term, 25th May 2012,

we celebrated Teacher's Day, (which was supposed

to be on 16 May but postponed due to examinations).

 There were many cakes, but I loved this photo friendly cake

 the backdrop at the hall, looks busy, overcrowded, and gloriously beflowered, but effectively attractive!

This is the open hall where we will be entertained to some shows and presentations .

 I do not teach them, but they are always offering to carry bags for me, especially Yuen Yee.

 A teacher's work is never done! Today being the last day of school, we have to close the register!

 plus hand up the record book (not to mention classes and classes of examination scripts to be marked!)

 But for now we enjoy the colourful dance routine put up by the students.

My Writing Win at Teacher's Day Celebration

On 23 May 2012, I attended a rehearsal for a prize giving 

at the CIDB Convention Centre, the venue of

this year's Teacher's Celebration at Jabatan Level.

 This convention hall place used to  be the site of a squatter

colony at Cheras, I used to look at the quaint squatter 

houses and marvel at their resilience, it even had a temple and

vegetable farms.  I wonder where they have been relocated to 

(not another victim of urban slums, I hope)

 Opposite is the revived VIVO which used to be the defunct UE3, a massive shopping complex that failed.

I saw my colleague rehearsing as one of the flag bearers.

 This is the actual day, and this is the Senator, Nong Cik giving his address.

 The highlight of the performances has to be this talented violinist from Convent Bukit Nenas.

 She was accompanied by her equally talented sister on the piano.
