Poking Fun at Gay Guidelines

The guidelines list four symptoms each of gays and lesbians:
Symptoms of gays:
  • Have a muscular body and like to show their body by wearing V-neck and sleeveless clothes;
  • Prefer tight and light-coloured clothes;
  • Attracted to men; and
  • Like to bring big handbags, similar to those used by women, when hanging out.
For the rest of the guidelines see link below:

KUALA LUMPUR: A briyani shop here poked fun at the purported guidelines to spot gays and lesbians for schoolchildren by giving away free meals to men wearing tight-fitting V-neck T-shirts and carrying sling bags.
What started off as a pub conversation quickly set siblings and owners Herukh and Kubhaer T. Jeswant of the Fierce Curry House in Bangsar Utama to add some fun to their business and celebrate the diversity of their patrons.
“When the guidelines came out, we thought it was ridiculous.
“But instead of joining in the fray to condemn it, we thought it would be an interesting concept to give out free briyani meals to the first 15 men who walk in with a V-neck and a man-bag,” said Herukh, who publicised his offer on Facebook.

By midday yesterday, the brothers had to extend their promotion to another 10 customers after receiving a roaring response.

But over here in Klang.......

PORT KLANG: In a ceremony steeped in tradition and colour, G. Kanama, 75, was ordained as the main elder of the local Indian transgender community over the weekend here.
Kanama replaces M. Asha Devi who succumbed to a heart attack early last month.
According to Asha Devi's anointed daughter Cheenu Parameswary, Kanama would now be regarded the main person in all activities pertaining to their community.
“She is the most suitable candidate to replace our late mother,'' said Cheenu, explaining that members of the transgender community were each other's kin by way of their sexual orientation.

She said the local Indian transgender community currently had seven generations.
However, she added, Asha Devi's position as the Thirunangai Association of Malaysia and Singapore the association which represents the Indian transgender community in both countries president has not been filled yet as tradition allows the community to do so only after a year of mourning.
“That will be a grand ceremony amidst a lot of pomp and prayers,'' said Cheenu, adding that the association's president could be someone else other than Kanama.
She added that there were many suitable candidates and the person selected must be someone who was able to represent and protect the community.

    Shila makes waves in Shanghai

    PETALING JAYA: Three songs in three languages belted out with virtuosity, confidence and style won local songstress Nur Shahila Amir Amzah the top prize in Asia's first reality singing contest held in Shanghai.
    Also known as Shila Amzah, the 22-year-old emerged as Asian Wave 2012 champion when she garnered enough votes online to beat contestants from China, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and India.

    Showing her Malaysian pride to the predominantly Chinese audience, she sang a cover version of Jaclyn Victor's Gemilang, followed by her rendition of Bruno Mar's Grenade. But it was her third song, Zheng Fu, a Mandarin number by Chinese star Na Ying, that clinched her the title.
    Her performance left the host speechless when he said, “Wow. Oh my God.”
    One of the judges, famed Chinese composer Gao Xiaosong, praised her performance, saying: “You gave me goosebumps. You broke my heart.”
    Shila could not control her emotions when the studio audience leapt to their feet in applause for her.
    She cried tears of joy when famed Cantopop legend Alan Tam handed her the trophy.
    The panel of judges, comprising some of the region's top artistes, including Japan's bossa nova queen Lisa Ono, K-pop star Lee Min-woo, Malaysian singer-composer Eric Moo and Hong Kong celebrity Hacken Lee, also sprang from their seats to give her a standing ovation as Shila choked back her tears.
