Police appalled by deliberate inaction of rapist’s accomplice
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are disgusted with the female accomplice who did not do anything when her male partner allegedly sexually assaulted a property agent.
City CID chief SAC Datuk Ku Chin Wah said he was very frustrated with the inaction of the woman suspect as another woman was raped.
He was referring to the rape case at a condominium unit in Mont Kiara last week.

At a press conference yesterday, he released CCTV images captured at the condominium showing the faces of the two suspects.
The images are clear. Im very sure someone could recognise them. Please come forward to help us in our investigations, he said.
The suspects were said to have left the scene in a white Mitsubishi Lancer with a fake registration plate.
Police sources revealed that the suspects were not married like they told the 34-year-old victim.
Those with information on their whereabouts are urged to contact Inspector Mohd Najeeb Mohd Esam at 012-7293 533 or go to the nearest police station.
In the incident on Thursday, a woman contacted the victim expressing interest in viewing a condominium unit in Mont Kiara.
They met in the evening where the female suspect turned up with a man, whom she introduced as her husband.
Once they entered the empty condominium unit, the man dragged the victim into a room while his female accomplice waited in the living room
The 34-year-old real estate agent was rescued by police on Friday morning after being alerted by auxiliary policemen, who had been tipped off that the victim was being held captive at a condominium in Mont Kiara.
City CID chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Datuk Ku Chin Wah confirmed the case when contacted and said it had been classified under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery.
It is understood that the drama unfolded on Thursday when a woman contacted the property agent after getting her number from the real estate agency's website.
The victim, from Kepong, agreed to meet the woman who had expressed an interest in viewing a Mont Kiara condominium unit, on Thursday evening .
When the victim met the woman, she was a bit surprised to see a man together with the woman, whom she introduced as her husband. The victim then took the couple to the condominium unit.
Once they entered the premises, the man pulled the agent into a room while his female accomplice waited in the living room.
The suspect allegedly pulled off the victim's clothing and tied her up. The couple then escaped with the victim's Toyota Vios, her mobile phone, laptop and RM200.
The victim, who had bruises on her face and ears, also alleged that she had been raped by the male suspect.
She was later sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre for an examination.
Police are not ruling out the possibility that this case and Chen's murder may have been the work of the same suspects.

Her husband Liew Yang Sei lodged a missing persons report at 8pm when she failed to return home.

KUALA LUMPUR: WHILE mothers nationwide were being feted by their husbands and children in conjunction with Mothers Day, it was a sombre affair at the Jalan Kuari crematorium yesterday.
Liew Yang Sei, 41, and his two children, a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, were saying their final farewell to wife and mother Chen Choi Mooi before she was cremated.
Chen, a 39-year-old real estate agent, had been murdered and her body dumped near Batu Dam, Gombak, last Wednesday. She had strangulation marks on her neck, while her mouth, eyes and forehead were swollen.
When approached by reporters at the crematorium, Liew said he and his children were too overcome with grief to speak and asked to be left alone.
"Please, it is a very difficult and trying time for us. Please allow us to grieve in private and pay our final respects," Liew said, with pain evident in his eyes as he glanced towards his wife's coffin.
Chen's two sisters were so overcome with grief that they fainted.
Her body was taken from the funeral parlour in Jinjang at 10am and arrived at the Jalan Kuari crematorium at 10.45 am.
Selangor CID chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Adnan Abdullah said police had yet to ascertain the motive for Chen's death or identify any suspect.
Liew had claimed his wife's body from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary on Thursday while the couple's two children were at school sitting their first term examinations.
Chen was last seen by her husband at 10am on Tuesday when he left their apartment in Jinjang Utara.
She had gone to meet a prospective tenant at 1pm and left after taking RM2,000 from the couple who had wanted to rent a house. She agreed to meet them again at 3pm to hand them the keys to the house but did not keep the appointment.
Chen had apparently told the couple that she would be meeting the landlord of the house and another client before meeting them later.
Liew became worried when a neighbour dropped his children off from tuition class as Chen, who was supposed to pick them, did not show up.
He called his wife's sisters but no one had seen her since that afternoon, so he lodged a missing person's report.
At 10am on Wednesday, the family found Chen's Proton Iswara in Batu 5, Jinjang. There was blood in the car boot.
Later that night, Liew received a call from the police, asking him to go to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary to identify a body. Chen was still wearing the black T-shirt and black skirt which she had on when she was last seen on Tuesday.
Police had found a trail of blood, indicating that she had been dragged for more than five metres before her body was dumped.
Chen, the youngest of 10 siblings, was described as a religious person who was active in the temple and had many friends.

KUALA LUMPUR (May 10, 2012) : A 42-year-old real estate agent who was reported missing by her husband on Tuesday was found murdered at the Batu Dam in Ulu Yam yesterday.
Cheng Chai Moi had left her house in Jinjang early on Tuesday to meet a client over the sale of a house.
When she did not return home and was not reachable by phone at 9pm, her husband lodged a missing persons report at the Jinjang police station.
Sentul police chief ACP Zakaria Pagan said the victim's husband spotted her car near a mosque at Jalan Ipoh at about 9am yesterday. An hour later Gombak police found her body at Ulu Yam.
It is learnt that her husband had also found blood stains in the car.
Gombak police chief ACP Abdul Rahim Abdullah said police were alerted by members of the public who found Cheng's body floating in the dam.
He said an inspection of her body by forensics police showed that Cheng who was clad in a skirt and blouse was strangled to death by her assailants. He said there were also facial wounds and swellings on her eyes and mouth.
He said the forensics team found a trail of blood on the ground which indicated that her body was dragged for about five metres before being dumped into the dam.
Police said there were no identification papers on the victim but at 8pm yesterday her husband who went over to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary and identified the body as Cheng's.
Abdul Rahim urged those with information on the murder to call the Selangor police hotline at 03-2052 9999.
