On our way back to KL we stopped in Johor Bahru for lunch
and found this place: Ah Keong Koong!
(sorry..it is Ah Koong, not Ah Keong)
full of foreign uniformed workers/helpers
a plethora of the usual yong tau fu stuff
choose whatever you want
or go for the set meal like we did, we chose the Two Person Meal
they "chelup" the noodle here
hot water for dunking the noodles
if kon loh, then the noodles are tossed with these sauces
a variety of fish balls and sea food too
prawns on ice
you can also sit inside if you enjoy air-con with your meal
fish cake came first
barley and leong fan drink
my kway teow soup...bleah..........not enough ajinomoto or ikan bilils in the soup
kon loh kya teow with soup....bland kway teow tossed only in soya sauce...no taste!
the entire collection of the "Two Person meal"
selection of yong tau fu
this girl spreads fish paste on the fu chok and fries them in a wok of hot oil
wow!!! they are anticipating a big crowd!!
Shop is named Ah
My tastebuds have been numbed by the Malay Canteen food in my school everyday with lots of chili, spices, santan, asam pedas, even the vegetables are cooked in lemak chili padi, so the above soup and yong tau fu tasted like a sick man's food.......
clean and beautified toilet, though....
