I am invited to a Balenciaga Soiree and Bon Odori Festival

36th Bon Odori Festival 2012
Bon Odori (meaning simply "Bon" dance) is a Japanese traditional festival to honor the spirits of one's ancestors.

This year in Malaysia, it is held in Stadium Matsushita Shah Alam and Esplanade Penang. Compare to Japan, the festival is celebrated on a smaller scale, the festival mainly to expose part of Japanese culutre, such as Japanese food and drinks, art, dance, and their products. More exciting programmes have been arranged this year!

Don't forget to bring along your family members and a couple of friends to attend this auspicious festival. See you there!

Security Measures in Mid Valley City

In view of the current slew of crimes against women in broad daylight in the car parks of shopping complexes in KL city, Mid Valley has issued the following Safe Measures fore us....

Security Measures in Mid Valley City
In light of the recent spate of incidents within Klang Valley, we would like to emphasize the security measures and services available for customers in case of emergencies:
1) Panic Buttons
 Selected pillars in the car park are marked with ‘HELP’ sign (Kindly refer to Appendix I for visual reference) and immediate assistance can be rendered when the panic button is pressed.
2) Security Hotline
 Our Security Control Room operates 24 hours and can be reached via telephone no:-
 Mid Valley Megamall : 03 – 2938 3244
 The Gardens Mall : 03 – 2289 8777
3) 24-hour Security Escort Service
 For convenience and security reasons, security escort service is extended to customers for collection of their vehicles. This service is available at Security Counter in Car Park Lobbies located at Zone A, P1 and Zone B, P2 or via the Information Counters and the security hotline.
We have an excess of 200 CCTVs in the car park and related areas, and an excess of 2,000 CCTVs in total within Mid Valley City. In view of the trending of incidents, additional CCTVs are being installed to further enhance surveillance coverage. We have also stepped up the security in the car park by deploying additional personnel at strategic points and increased frequency of patrolling.
Pertaining to the incident recent at IGB Annexe Lobby, Level 4, the suspect identified through CCTV footages is currently under police custody for further investigation. The Management is extending its full cooperation to the authorities with regards to the incident.

the cramped conference area belies its look..

the place is actually huge....has many spa, facial, hair removal, mani pedi and sauna rooms

I loved the door knob with the Body Perfect Insignia

slim and gorgeous looking ambassadors of the place

she gave a lowdown the skin and all its dermis and epidermis and everything in between

tea-time!!! fantastic tuna rolled in soft bread, herbed pasta, curry puffs, cake and fruits

next: the goodie bags: forgot to take photos, and a tour round the place....I will be utiliising the free voucher for a spot of hair removing....maybe the bikini-line?????

Spiderman 2012 Preview 3 July 2012

Caught the preview screening of

The Amazing Spiderman

(slated to open tomorrow 5th July 2012)

last night at the Curve

brand new Spiderman movie with all-new cast that

got my teenage girl all excited.....

It had her heart throb, Andrew Garfield..

Tobey Maguire (a good actor, in my opinion) was a terrible Peter Parker. He didn’t look the part and just wasn’t believable.

Clearly the creators of The Amazing Spider-Man took note of this, because I can’t imagine there ever being a better Peter Parker than Andrew Garfield. He just “got” it and completely nailed the smartass awkwardness that we love in the character. Emma Stone, while not an ideal Gwen Stacy on paper, gave one of the best performances of her career and was absolutely believable as the character.

Nyonya Bak Chang (Dumplings)

After I had lamented that I did not

get to eat any Chinese dumplings

this season, my colleague (also my namesake)

gave me two Nyonya dumplings.

beautifully wrapped and tied, you just tug at the string, it will unwrap to reveal the goodie inside..

Nyonya dumplings have a distinctive blue colouring, from the blue bells (flower)

inside was a generous filling of minced meat in soya sauce and the dumplings had a sweetish taste......my first taste of Nyonya dumplings after many years of Teo Chew ones. Thanks, Joe Loo!
