Kong kee restaurant for Tanjung Tualang prawns

Since we were in Tanjung Tualang we went hunting for a prawn lunch as my husband was quite impressed that  Kuan drove  us all the way from kL to TT for freshwater prawns with my sister and family, so it must be that good.

We spotted Kong  Kee;  it looks old and authentic and not so commercialized 



From its old black and white photos this shop has been around for some time !

Not crowded but it’s past 3 and many people go for newer shops. 


Theses are the ways prawns are served here and we chose steamed prawns. 


The prawns may have big heads but the flesh is dense and firm ..we had medium sized ones rm150 per kg and ours was 600 gms at rm51.



Steamed with ginger, garnished with scallions and there’s a hint of wine. 


We had prawns and nothing else, with rice and herbal tea 

Tan Ngan Lo or one eyed fella herbal tea in a bottle ! 

I have not seen or tasted this herbal tea before!! Only rm2.20



So of all the  plethora of prawn restaurants which would you try? Just don’t forget to stop for the famous freshwater tin mining prawns when you are in Ipoh heading for Tanjung Tualang ! 

Vacuuming my hair

Joyce said that my package now consists of hair maintenance for this visit 

I parked at E Curve so I had to walk across to The Street

Lots of visitors today because it’s Hari Raya Haji plus school holidays 

First Joyce shampooed my hair 

Then she vacuumed my scalp!!!

Hahahaha ! Omg first time I had my hair vacuumed!

One is clean water and the other will contain the impurities vacuumed from my head!’n



See the diff? I can’t !! Means I have a clean head?

Now she is brushing some stuff (I forgot )

Now she’s spraying essence on my hair ! Btw she taught me how to add “story” to my instagram!

Now comes my much awaited head scalp and shoulder massage 

Then she blows dry my hair into big bouncy curls while I sip my favourite drink here “lo Han Kuo” which I’m too lazy to boil at home!

Like my curls ? and my new selfie app “ Beauty Plus” that whitens and erases my fine lines lol!!?

Royal SELANGOR Club meeting 23/8/18

My speaker’s club friend Ann invited us to her club’s meeting and there was a speaker on DNA typing plus it was held in Royal Selangor Club so I made it a point to attend. 

Sounds intriguing ...and hey! I made some notes ..so here goes: with DNA technology  (mapmygenome) which costs rm2,800 but there’s a promotional price of rn2350 for members, you can test for mutant genes, correct them and modify them to achieve a long life maybe 105?  You can also identify genes that make you excel in sports or whatever field you are destined for, work with experts to develop those genes (e.g sports officials dietitians etc) and you can even eliminate unwanted genes so as not to pass them to your offsprings or something like that ... hmmmm... wonder what religious bodies have to say from  the moral point of view .

I can’t get enough of the old world decor: all wood and carpeting , chandeliers and relics of photos depicting an era of time  gone by. 

They start sharp at 6, and this sign showed that meeting already started!! Ann told me they end at 7! 

My friend Ann a past president ..I was in time for the dna talk though!! And the dinner.

Dorsett Subang Meeting

Attended RC PJ meeting because Jen wants to switch clubs and she’s shopping for one so I tagged along . 

I went along to see how other clubs hold their meeting and to meet more men hehe

This one holds weekly meetings at 5 star hotel 

Parked and walked through the grand ballroom 

Melati room and I could not find the mains ...it was located outside : steamed rice with mutton masala and chicken kurma

Dr Tarcicius whom I’ve read about in the press, a lot 

Chris and chartered president Chan from Ara Damansara  ..he brought 7 members to visit 

Talk by JSMN Tuan 

Wow !!! Eye opening talk ..a common topic but she gave a fresh approach and she’s from Singapore 

So, today my meeting was a fruitful one! Good to get out of your comfort zone and meet other members from other clubs!!

Attended RC bukit Bintang dinner because it was cheap at rm67! Hehe I’m a cheapskate now, bec I don’t wanna pay money to have dinner and get fat!!!
