Video Games Live at Istana Budaya

On 26 May 2012, I had two showcase passes for
Pixie Lott's Concert Tour but I had to give it a miss
because of a family dinner.



Having missed the Pixie Lott Concert, we however, did manage
to catch Video Games Live at Istana Budaya on 27 May.

 At intermission time
"Please adhere to the required dress code in the venue: Round or V neck t-shirt, Short Revealing Dress, Shorts, Faded or Torn jeans, Slippers or Sandals are NOT allowed " 
 there was a full orchestra complete with harpsichord, cello, violins and choir
 being a teen, she needs to be exposed to a dose of culture 
 she has been here before for Mama Mia the musical but she was too young to remember
 Mummy bringing daughter for the orchestra show

 (not that I am a gamer, nor do I know anything about video games apart from Tetris, Super Mario and Pacman, and of course, Pikachu!!!)
 and I did not know these video games had a full symphony of orchestra-composed theme songs!
Video Games Live (VGL) is a concert series created and produced by industry veterans and video game composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall.
After a successful show in 2010, the touring orchestra concert Video Games Live (VGL) which features music from video games universe  returns to Malaysia once again in May at Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur.
Retro game fans will be further treated with a medley of classic arcade tunes such as Pong, Donkey Kong, Dragon’s Lair, Tetris, Gauntlet, Outrun.
The Video Games Live concert brings the intensity and excitement of the gaming world’s most powerful compositions, as the National Symphony Orchestra recreate the best video game music on a spectacular stage. Video Games Live is the first ever concert to celebrate music from the biggest video games of all time from ‘Super Mario’ to ‘Final Fantasy’. Having sold to a massive 11,000 crowd on its debut performance at the Hollywood Bowl in the US in 2005 – making it the largest video game concert in the world – Video Games Live will now navigate its way successfully through to the next level when it hits our shores in May at Istana Budaya.
The evening combines exclusive video footage and music arrangements, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussionists and groundbreaking interactive segments to create an explosive one-of-a-kind multimedia entertainment experience. With music from the retro days of ‘Pong’ to the fast paced action of ‘Halo’, Video Games Live will transport you into the heart of the gaming world.
