Ok, I know Singapore is an entire country, but I was reading about some pretty disturbing stuff that goes on around there. Considered Asia’s most haunted city, Singapore is home to many locations that register high numbers in paranormal activity. Strange lights glitter through Hougang School near East Coast Beach and one ghost actually goes around slapping people at the Changi Beach House. Near the coast at Lor Halus, ghosts of the poor beg for food and money along the streets. Many years ago at the Bedok Tenant House, a ghost apparently killed a resident and now the woman is herself a screaming ghost who disturbs the residents at the Hou Gang Tenements. In the Fort Sentosa district, the Punggol White House is haunted by a whole family who committed suicide together, while headless apparitions terrorize passengers as they pass through certain MRT mass transit stations in the city. As you can see Singapore has a slew of hauntings that are ceaseless in their disturbance to the living.

Playing with fire on CNY

When my kids were little, hubby used to buy these by the boxes...

POP POP!!!

Harmless, permitted

(fireworks and firecrackers are banned in Malayisa)

and lots of FUN!!!

You pelt the pop pop on the cement floor and it goes

POP POP!!! of course!!

If we go to Batu Pahat, the kids get to play with these...

haha!!! what an assortment!!

I remembered way back when we were young, I was aghast when I found out

that my only brother had spent a princely sum buying a stash of fire crackers like these..

he had to hide them, because he will get a clout on the head by my parents if they found out!!

Now that he is grown with children of his own, he buys them for the kids (his and ours),

not the boys buy for themselves, surreptiously, with their own money, like he did, so long ago....

A Day at the Fish Spa

I did not know that fish spa exists only in Malaysia until

I found out from Brad, the exchange teacher.

When my niece came visiting from Melbourne,

that was the first thing she wanted to try, so we brought her!

What is she peering at? She is piqued by the fishes devouring the poor foot!

look at the gigantic fishes! What if they turn out to be piranhas??

they look absolutely voracious and avaricious!!!

at the fish spa, the fish are supposed to gently massage your feet by nibbling at them and suck away the dead skin...ewwww!!!

A funny thing happened! Little girl walked over and joined her dad, fishes promptly left Dad to go towards her.

Now they have swum from dad and surrounded girl!

then, they found that girl's feet were too clean (she had been at the other tank for quite some time)

so they went back to dad!!! Or maybe dad had juicier dead skins?

hahaha!!! now her side is devoid of any fishes!!! They have all left her to go back to daddy!

see? How clean and exfoliated her feet are?
