Hakka Restaurant

Holiday trips and family meetings are never without FOOD!!! Since we are all Hakkas, we went to a Hakka restaurant, (I do not know the English name)

The Hakkas are also known as Khek or Kerk Jia (guests of the land) the Hakka are guests (nomadic people) and do not have any permanent province, unlike Cantonese with their province Canton, Hainanese with Hainan and so on.

The facade is that of an old heritage shop house

Menu of dishes available

Salt chicken

Mui chai stewed streaky pork

Yong Tau foo
Beef on mee pok
Also known as Hakka mee

vinegar pig trotter

Abacus seed or suon pan chi

This shop has been featured in newspapers and journals

Hakka herbal soup is a hit with pregnant ladies

The shop may look small, but is fully utilised at the side and back of the shop
Uncle Roger enjoys his char siew pau away from the noisy ladies

The ladies
