Shooting of "Siapa Dia" at the Gym

Seeing the gymnasium reminds me of the shooting 

of the local movie "Siapa Dia" shown in March 1996.

 The awesome, stand-along gymnasium block that had wooden floor panelling,s pole vaults and wooden horse.  Are these still there? Is this gym still is operation?

 The all-boys' school that I went to also had a similar, smaller gym which was locked and not in use
when I was transferred there in 2003.  It has since been demolished.  But this gym is still standing proud, I am glad to say.

 Inside here, the shoot of the movie took place entirely, the whole day, one day in 1994.

 Me, the office staff took the opportunity to take pictures with the lead actress, Nina Juren.

She is not a prolific actress, but she is beautiful in an unconventional Malay way, of royal and mixed parentage. She is now married to a nephew of the ex-queen and is a Datin.

 We were in the afternoon session, and we took all these pictures when the HM and the morning session kids had gone back! With Faizal, the hero who has gone on to win some awards.

 Nina looks pretty and tall and slim and does not look tired or dishevelled even after a whole day of shooting! and so obliging too, posing for numerous photos with us!!!

 The whole shoot was in the gymnasium, till night.  In this scene, Jasmine (the heroine)'s sleeve got ripped by the hero!

 After the afternoon school ended, I went home to bring my two children to witness the shooting!

 Nina, with her ripped sleeve covered by a large towel, posing with my 2 young children. The shots of her doing gymnastics were done by a stand-in gymnast/body double  who was chaperoned by her mother- she said that her poor daughter had to do the same stunts over and over again! and her face could not be shown, only her boyd!

 You can see the date on my photo: 16 June 1994, but it was only shown in 1996.
