And so I went , to support my friend Sia KB who posted the above Food Lovers message in our chat group.
Me and Sia with our croissants!! I had 3: Hokkaido custard, tuna and sweet corn, cheese and ham, all for rm6.50 each!!
I arrived at 12.50 so lion dance was already in full swing!
Outlet kiosk is quite strategically situated ..I foresee it’ll catch the flow of the heavy traffic of shoppers.
Don’t expect the normal Croissant boat shape but it’s rectangularly flat with an embossed fish motif. All the goodies and fillings are enclosed inside as all sides are sealed . Skin is crispy, sweet, with the texture of the flaky pastry of croissant. The sugar that is burnt on the skin makes it crispy and crunchy and great to munch on
A peek in the show cabinet will give you an idea what to order.
My 3 choices : tuna not so good as savory does not go too well with caramelised sugar pastry, cheese and ham did wonders for me: mixture of salty hammy cheesy flavors ..and the Hokkaido custard: very good! Creamy custard and crispy puff makes you look for a nice cuppa to complete the combo. At around rm6.50 upwards , Tai Croissant makes for an inexpensive Mall Street snack.
