Malacca River Cruise

After our Lok Lok or Satay Celup dinner
we rushed to the riverside
to catch a Melaka River Cruise.

Melaka River
A good way to take a rest from pavement pounding, the lazy, 10km riverboat cruise down the Melaka River takes you
past some key Malaccan sightseeing spots. Heading towards the sea, it’s a 45minute cruise that starts out nearby
Dutch square and sails past Kampung Morten (a national heritage site) and the Chan Boon Cheng bridge – an
overpass with a gruesome history (during the Japanese occupation, soldiers placed the beheaded heads of victims at
the foot of the bridge).
Address: Malacca river jetty in front of the Quayside Heritage Centre How to get there : Taxi
We needn't have rushed: the ticket booth closes at 10!
It costs RM30 for the three of us...cheap?

no crowd, it is a Tuesday night
waiting for other passengers to fill up the boat
while waiting, we checked our Facebook and he is experimenting with his old camera
balancing camera on pole to get a steady night shot of riverfront
this is the scene he is trying to take

Finally!
We are on board!
Cruise is about to start

These pics are from my phone: the rest below are from the Canon, and he takes all the bridges that we pass and most of the places mentioned in the commentary, but I have forgotten the stories!!!! So, there are no captions, until I do research and find out what is what (Dutch wharehouse, Kampung Morten, Bridges and so on....)

Meanwhile look at the pictures, maybe you can recognise the places....

Then, we are back on land...this is the Dutch Square....quite deserted at night.....
