Penang Bridge 2nd Link and Bukit Merah Laketown Resort

After John's house we were ready to drive back, using the north south highway now of course. John told us about the second link which is  near his Residency. So we followed his instructions and found the second bridge.
The Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge or Penang Second Bridge E28 is a dual carriageway toll bridge in Penang, Malaysia. It connects Bandar Cassia in Seberang Perai on mainland Peninsular Malaysia with Batu Maung on Penang Island. Wikipedia
The way there

Finally, we caught a glimpse of the second bridge here:
"Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge , popularly called the Second Penang Bridge, is a 24-kilometer bridge linking Penang Island to Penang Mainland"

In the distance, you can see nearly the whole bridge.

The Second Penang Bridge, the longest bridge in Southeast Asia, opens tonight, easing traffic..(Malay Mail Mar 1, 2014 - KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 )

It is called the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge

Spectacular view over exit of the bridge...we are now leaving Penang.  By the way, from Butterworth, we took the old fashioned ferry instead of the first bridge.

Driving along the North South highway, the first stop we saw was the Bukit Merah Laketown Resort which we had never had the chance to bring our two elder kids and especially the youngest one as all her weekends were taken by ballet classes. Now, alas, the kids are all grown, the first 2 have flown the nest, the youngest about to enter college.
Set off the North-South Expressway, this laid-back resort hotel overlooks a Tasik Bukit Merah, a 3,000 hectare freshwater lake.

Relaxed rooms and suites with unpretentious decor provide complimentary Wi-Fi, cable TV and minifridges, as well as tea and coffeemakers.

As well as 2 restaurants, there's an outdoor pool, an animal park and a waterpark with waterslides.

We went in to check it out and yes, it was quite "Laid back" as described above.

It boasts a WaterPark or Theme park and should delight the kids.
Lots of greenery and has a quiet pace due to its isolated location.
Has its own hotel and accomodation.  I have always seen advetisements of Bukit Merah Laketown Resort but have never been here.

So we hit the exit of the resort and continued down the NSH (North south Highway)
We are heading towards Kuala Lumpur, and we will stop at Taiping next.  Wow!! our adventure never ends!
