In Batam the layer cake factory was situated in a housing estate
so here I show you some terrace houses
unique frontage with small cute gate and planter boxes
nice contemporary style not unlike Malaysia's
this is the layer cake factory or rather, cottage industry
if you peep inside, you can see the paraphernalia for making the cakes
many tourists waiting, but no cake for sampling, because it was the Raya holidays
more tourists arrive, and there was no cakes for sale!!!
so the next best thing was to take photos
terrace house with nice facade, compare it with the neighbour's
you can walk around like Malaysia's terrace house roads in the housing estate
some kept to the original build-up, but of course those who have made it, renovated their houses
impatient crowd, still waiting!
What? No layer cake?
At last!
your own tour guide will bring some cut cakes for you to sample
it was soon gone in a jiffy!
see? nearly gone!
I took photo outside the shop, maybe you can use the phone no to order the cake
the cake shop..but no orders were taken, no one is working today
this terrace house does not need a gate, but a decorated railing sill with green plants
see? nice or not?
this corner house utitilised all space to maximise build-up, note the adjoing neighbour
it is also taller than the rest
this is the original terraced house
another one which closely guards its privacy
this one is princely white
looks impressive and neat....but no space for cars to park in their porch
instead, there is a covered shed for their cars opposite their houses
a pink house
next, we went to the outside shophouses where there was a chocolate factory and choc shop.
