Highlights of Chinese New Year, 2014

CNY has come and gone (almost) and I have not done any post......too many pictures, too much food, so little time!!!

So, I shall compress and give you only the highlights of my ONEderful CNY (with apologies to Teresa Kok's Onederful New Year Youtube).

This is the scene at Taman Midah morning market on the 29 January which is the eve of the eve!!!(30 January 2014)

First of all there was the morning prayers at the altar of our ancestors in Taman Midah.   Doesn't this look awesome???  Wish the younger generation is able to continue the tradition, even I cannot seem to be able to keep this up!!!
Me and Alyssa burning joss paper...
Tai Koo oversees everything
She is the one who remembers all the dates and all the rituals.

that night, we had our reunion at the same place, our old house, even though nobody stays there anymore!!!
As usual it was steamboat, I and Emel did the fish, chicken, meat, sotong and prawns, Aunty SY bought the fish balls and fu chuk and all the rest of the fish by products....

Reunion dinner for the Tay side of the family.
On the first day we did the customary rounds of visit...
and found there was a new addition!!!
Fifth Aunty  surrounded by all of us!!!
Then it was off to the temple, and I missed my first daughter who likes to take photo with this lion statue!!!
Next we went to 3rd Uncle's house, and managed to meet Lee J , her husband and daughter before they leave for Melbourne!

That night I hosted dinner and I was tickled pink to see this queue!

even met up with James, and the picture shows the four of us siblings with James in blue
Uncle Roger gave us the most sumptuous dinner at Lai Huat, he was so pleased to host his burgeoning family he was beaming!!!
