Denied Entry for Fried Sauce Noodles (Zha jiang mian, 炸酱面)

Lily the tour guide had made reservations for fried sauce noodles
that is served in this military university
The noodle is called Zha Zhiang Mien Fried Sauce Noodles (Zha jiang mian, 炸酱面)

Fried Sauce Noodles (Zha jiang mian, 炸酱面) has different ways of cooking, differs by regions and family habit. In Beijing, the dish is called Old Beijing Fried Sauce Noodles, which is considered the most traditional way to serve this dish. The base of sauce is usually made by yellow soybean paste, and the dish is served with sliced cucumber, sliced red radish, boiled spring sprout and yellow soybeans.
you have to line up in single file to get in, and I took this shot from the bus
however, we were stopped at the guard house
and we were grilled, we could speak Mandarin, but our accent gave us away: We were Malaysians!!!
Malaysians are not allowed in for the special noodle lunch!
We negotiated and waited for a long time, while they spoke to some officials to give permission
Meanwhile, busloads of local tourists had lined up and gone in
But not us!!! In the end we were turned away!
could it be because of MH370????
Whatever it was, there was no
Fried Sauce Noodles (Zha jiang mian, 炸酱面)
for us that day.
